My current work is batik an ruanas, shawls, scarves. and wall hangings. I choose to work with these simple shapes because of their versatility. I approach each piece as a canvas, drawing with brushes and a pen-like tool called a tjanting, applying a beeswax and paraffin resist, then dyeing with fiber reactive dyes, building up layers of design.
